Alpha is taking a field trip. But first, he talks about how 18 years ago he was buying fitness equipment at this very location. The equipment was for his fitness location that didn’t turn out so well. In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaMAaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro  talks about how he’s converting a small room in his home to a gym for filming videos. He’s looking for cardio equipment, weights, and more.

Options for Home Fitness Equipment

With home fitness equipment, you get what you pay for. WalMart, for example, has poor quality. You end up wasting money. Places like Fitness Depot is quality that is made to last. Even so they have different levels of quality – some designed for fitness facilities, some for home use.

Fitness Depot has been around 40 years. They have a great line of fitness equipment at great deals – they have the best line of home fitness equipment at commercial grade. This same salesman sold Alpha’s equipment to him originally – back on September 11, 2011

Cardio Equipment

Quality treadmills are better and well-made where WalMart ($500) are trash. The quality equates to no rocking, a padded deck, and thicker belt. Alpha discusses his treadmill, Landice. Sprint and Life Fitness are also amazing brands which you can find great deals. A stair master is also a great home equipment option, but the height is a drawback.

Weights and More

As far as weights for home gyms, Tough Stuff is the brand that Alpha’s knowledgeable about. The quality is incredible and top-of-the-line for home fitness. He talks about what he loves: it’s not super huge but you can do a lot of functions (squats, bench press, pull downs, pull ups, and more). It also has a bench, pulleys, Smith Machine, incline / decline, and seated exercises. He could totally workout with this without going to the gym.

He’s also grabbing a vertical stand for hanging leg lifts, ab exercises, and body weight dips (main reason). He’s also grabbing about 250 pounds of rubberized weights for the Smith Machine. He’s not getting a free weight bench because (1) it’s very limited and (2) the Smith Machine is safer. Last, he’s purchasing a rack of dumbbells ranging from 5 – 65 pounds. When buying dumbbells for your home, get ones that are rubberized on the end. The problem with the ‘old school’ dumbbells chip and break. Alpha even got some of the chipping in his eye!
