What to Wear with Colored Pants and Chinos

Aaron Marino of alpha m. analyzes what to pair with and where to wear colored pants- and more specifically red men's pants. Colored pants are not really appropriate for the business environment. And if wearing the pants on a night out-on-the-town, what do you wear with them?

Remember, the more flamboyant an item, the rest of the outfit must be toned down so that you don't look like you're trying to hard. First of all if you are going to wear colored pants, most men won't share your vision about colored pants so you need to have thick skin and confidence to wear them. Next, find items that will work with colored pants. Third, create an outfit with the colored pants. Aaron illustrates some great looks with specifically red pants. A dynamite idea is a white v-neck tee shirt and cool fashion sneakers.

June 4, 2012
Aaron Marino of alpha m. gives the low-down and opinion on men's linen shirts and pants. These types of shirts and pants are surging in the stores. Linen fabric is woven from the fibers of the flax plant- the same flax that is the healthy seed for you to consume. The weave is loose, and the fabric is cool to touch, breathable, and light. Linen is tough to keep wrinkle-free (almost impossible) but Read More»
My Pants Are Tight | Are Your Pants Too Small?  -
May 18, 2012
How can you tell that your men's pants are too small? Aaron Marino of alpha m. shares a pair of pants he bought online, and they are incredibly small. Alpha's tailor said that sizes for pants in the store don't correlate with the actual waist size (for example, Aaron's actual size 30 is a 31 -32 in the store). The online store actually sent a legit size 30 to Aaron. Once the tailor altered the midRead More»

March 2, 2012
The majority of men have at least one body issue to consider when buying clothes and putting a wardrobe together.  Nature has not been quite as generous with handing out perfect body types as we wish she was, so, my motto is change what you can, and wear complementing clothes to disguise the rest. Fortunately, this isn’t difficult to achieve with the vast assortment of styles on today’s markeRead More»

In-Between Pants | Business Casual Pants -
December 24, 2011
There are numerous styles of pants on the market for men today, from jeans to dress slacks, but this article is going to talk about what I like to refer to as “In-Between” pants. These are pants that are also classified as “business casual” – not jeans, but not dressy slacks, either.  In-Between pants are casual and typically include khakis, chinos and corduroys; all pants that can be aRead More»

Belts, both functional and fashionable, come in an assortment of styles, colors and types, and without one, make a pair of pants look naked. Like everything else we wear, belts are a reflection of our personality and fashion sense, and have the ability to make or break an outfit. Belts give our body a balanced look, separating our upper from our lower; creating symmetry no matter what our shape orRead More»
Men's Pant Rise | Standard, Mid, Low -
December 18, 2011
Aaron Marino of alpha m. discusses the pant rise which is the distance between the waist band to the bottom of the crotch. A standard rise is about 12 inches. 'Standard' was standard back in the 50's and 60's, which they wore their pants at their belly button. We currently wear pants around our natural waist. Designers are now making low and mid rises (8 to 11 inches) making the pant fit better wiRead More»
Pleated and Flat Front Pants -
December 10, 2011
Aaron Marino of alpha m. has a big style pet peeve, which is men wearing pleated pants. If you wear your pleated pants up to your belly button, the pleats will lay flat. We don't wear our pants up at our belly button these days, so when we wear the pants at our natural waist, the pleats open up. The look is pear shaped with birthing hips. With suits, finding flat front pants is challenging. Do somRead More»
