Men are starting to take care of themselves more than ever before. In Atlanta, Alpha is sitting down with Dr. Shivani from b.YOU Beauty Bar to discuss anti-aging and Botox.
First, Aaron Marino of alpha m. discusses Botox and those who administer Botox with Dr. Shivani. He then progresses to asking about common areas for men to have treated with Botox. Three zones are typical area: eyebrow, forehead, and periorbital. He then comments about how some people look like they’ve had work done and how to avoid this look. Dr. Shavani responds that less is more, and that Botox administration is an art. A natural look is desirable.
Alpha asks how long Botox works, which is 3 – 6 months with a peak effect in 10 -14 days. If you have an event, plan ahead. As far as prep for Botox, don’t take NSAIDs prior to administration as they can increase risk of bruising. After getting Botox, don’t workout or drink alcohol for 48 hours. With continued Botox treatments, you will use less over time. Cost for Botox can be by the unit or the area. It’s more fair by the unit (you will be only charged for what you’re using) which is about $12 – $15 per unit.
