How many times have you bought men’s clothing, and the item still in your closet with tags on it? Aaron Marino of alpha m. stresses not buying what you will not wear. Aaron avoids buying things he won’t wear by using visualization. If the item is outside of his comfort zone, he tries to put himself in the outfit. He visualizes all aspects: shoes, pants, belt, shirt, sport coat, season, and in what situations would he would wear the item.
If the scenarios just don’t work, he doesn’t buy the item. Also, take the time to try on the item. Does it fit well? Then, look at color and pattern? Is it super outside of your comfort zone? Pre-think what you are going to wear with it.
Remember, shopping releases endorphins where you get a bit of a high and emotional with shopping. When faced with putting that item together with the rest of your wardrobe, keep yourself in reality. Build and conceptualize the outfit you are trying to create. You can save wasting a bunch of money with this method.
