Rachel explains that yoga is not just a form of exercise. Yoga is practice of postures in order to learn to breathe in the correct way to assist with stress by calming you. Yoga is challenging yet relaxing. Rachel states that yoga has been popular for a long time.
The physical practice is a very small part of yoga; however, the western world focuses on that part. Yoga also gets you out of your ego and out of your head. Yoga gives you a mental break. When you start yoga, realize that every walk of life does yoga. Yoga is more for the unfit, over-weight, and inflexible as the goal is to get into shape, lose weight, and become flexible.
The classes are for your self; therefore, don’t worry about what is going on with the mat next to them. When you first start, simply bring water because you can borrow a mat. Rachel shows viewers around the studio, including the hot yoga room. Hot yoga allows you to go deeper and get the toxins out.
