Being put on the spot and first time experiences can also be a time that a nice guy can get taken advantage of. Teach people how you want to be treated and how you accept to be treated. Aaron knows this philosophy from past experiences in the nutrition store he used to own. He learned to stand up for himself. Papa Alpha adds and reiterates that people who are self-absorbed rarely, if ever, get taken advantage of. But if you’re a nice guy, getting taken advantage of can happen all too often.
Why and how to overcome? Teach people how you want to be treated. Keep in mind that everyone wants to be liked but not everyone is going to like you. If someone doesn’t like you because they can’t take advantage of you, you are better off without them.
