Common causes are age (throats get smaller the older you get), genetic air passages (narrow passages like adenoid swelling or deviated septum), sinus issue (post nasal drip, seasonal allergies), being overweight (#1 reason for snoring because of less muscle tone and more fatty tissue), external factors (smoke, drink alcohol, take medications, which each relax muscles in throat and neck), and sleep posture (sleeping on your back).
