Muscle Soreness and Progress

March 23, 2012
Does not getting sore mean that your workouts are not beneficial or effective? Aaron Marino of alpha m. emphasizes that you don’t have to be incredibly sore after a workout to get results.

Muscle soreness is from damaging muscle fibers. As a result lactic acid is released. The point at which your body releases lactic acid varies. This variation is your lactic threshold. Also different muscles have different lactic thresholds. Bottom line, do not let soreness be an indicator of a good workout. Just make sure you are working out and you are safe about it as that’s all that matters.
