Alpha men should have self sufficiency with small tasks, which include being able to sew a button back on your clothing. Do not pawn off small tasks on your grandmother, mother, wife, or girlfriend.
Aaron Marino of alpha m. demonstrates how to sew a button. To start, get a mini emergency sewing kit for about 3 bucks. You will also need your item of clothing and button. If you don’t know where your button is, dress shirts come with extra buttons for the cuff and the front buttons sewn onto the shirt. These match the shirt perfectly. Follow along with the video to sew on a button:
- Keep an eye where the button was and remove the old thread
- Thread your needle with matching thread that is around 2 1/2 feet long. Lick the thread before threading the needle for better accuracy.
- Double the thread back so that both ends of the thread are about even.
- Turn it over, twist, and put a small knot in the end of the thread.
- On the underside, put your needle through and drop the button on top.
- Go back through one of the holes across, and continue through another hole. Repeat about 10 times.
- Start wrapping around the button tightly and create a knot.
