Men’s cut-off jean shorts are increasingly popular this season. Aaron Marino of alpha m. demonstrates how to make men’s jean shorts.
When you lay your men’s shorts flat, the legs are slanted. So when you put them on and your body fills them out, it’s going to drop them and create a flat line across your thighs. If the jeans are cut straight across, your ass will look like it’s eating your shorts.
Here’s how to do it: you need a pair of heavy duty kitchen scissors, an old pair of jeans, and a pair a shorts that you love the length for a template.
Lay jeans flat and take all the wrinkles out. Button top button and have them sit naturally as possible. Take the template shorts and lay them on top of the jeans, matching up the back waistband. Follow the line, including the slant. Be careful not to cut the template shorts. Don’t allow any wrinkles for a smooth cut across. Repeat for the other leg. What you are left with is the perfect length jean shorts; however, you will see a really crisp cut. Throw them in the washer and dryer, then cut the white thread off. Leave the non-white fringe.
You can also do with old khaki, corduroys, and chinos. Now you have some custom jean shorts on which you didn’t spend any money!
