What do hair texturizing and thinning scissors do? And how are these type of scissors different than normal scissors? Aaron Marino of alpha m. performs self hair cuts but the more that his hair grows, the more he needs texturizing.

Professionals use razors or texturizing scissors. The texturizing scissors have little places along the blades which are cut-out and leave some pieces of hair longer than others. Definition and body is given to your hair through texturizing. Thinning sheers are not different than texturizing scissors; however, they are used differently. When thinning, they start around the root rather than at the hair ends. Same tool- different application.
